This photograph shows part of the Palmerston North representatives at the Napier Bowling Championships that took place in late January 1898. Three "rinks" from Palmerston took part and the prize was awarded to those on No. 2 Rink - the team in the photograph. This photograph shows a young J A Nash 10 years before he would become mayor of Palmerston North (1908-1923).
