This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 6 July, 1963. "The annual relay race of the Palmerston North Wesley Harriers got away to a good start this morning. The race, to be run in seven stages covered a distance of 38.4 miles. The lap one runners are seen getting away, having been started by the Rev. P. Stead."
