Presumed to be a class of pilots in training during World War Two, with Philip Fowler, training instructor, 5th from left, front row. Probably taken at Ohakea Air Base, given the date.
Philip Fowler served as a pilot during World War One. During World War Two he was called up by the RNZAF and became Chief Ground Instructor, until rising to the position of Commandant of the Air Training Corp for New Zealand.
