Philip Fowler (1895-1970), the pilot, served as a pilot in WWI. On his return he worked for the New Zealand Air Transport Company in Timaru transporting passengers, and then for Walsh Brothers, Kohimarama, Auckland. This image was probably taken during this time. Handwritten on the back is "Just descending none the worse." "All over. Mother again gets her old smile on".
