L. G. West, Plan for Totalisator House, Rangitikei Racing Club
- Description
This plan for moditications to the Totalisator House was designed by L. G. West for the Rangitikei Racing Club. The club had been founded in the 1850s and the Bulls racecourse established in 1878. In 1969 the club shifted its activities to Awapuni. The Danish-born architect Ludolph Georg West (1846-1919) established an architectural practice in Palmerston North in about 1880. In 1912 he formed a partnership with is son, Ernest Vilhem West, who continued the business after his father's death.
