The float, which won a first prize, was created by the Display department of C M Ross and was made of hundreds of paper flowers. Gwen Becker, on the float, was an employee of C M Ross. The parade was organised as part of the Jubilee celebrations of 1952, to mark 75 years of Palmerston North.
