E G Child was an engine driver at flaxmills in the vicinity of Oroua Bridge. Albert Adsett's mill was situated alongside the main road from Palmerston North to Foxton. It stood on the south side of the road, a few yards on the Palmerston North side of Bourke's Drain. Albert was a son of Henry Adsett, of Taonui.
