The Skyhawk, piloted by Flight Lieutenant John Nicholas Dick, was on a routine exercise in the Colenso area of the Ruahine ranges when it crashed on March 25, 1981. Flight Lieutenant Dick was killed in the crash. This photograph shows what remained of the engine. The TA-4G crashed about 25 miles from Taihape.
