Martha Marie Ihle nee Pedersdotter was born in Oslo 26/07/1845 and died in Palmerston North 2/09/1917. Martha married Anders Hans Ihle on 4/03/1865 in the Hovia annex of the Ullensager Church. The family arrived in NZ aboard the ship Celaeno to take up land allotted in Palmerston North, section 350, lot 14 (40 acres of the Karere Scandinavian Block). The first two of their eleven children were born in Norway. Two of her children died in infancy, leaving six boys and fours girls to survive to adulthood.
