This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 10 April 1963, "Before a good crowd of both buyers and spectators at the Awapuni racecourse today, a number of thoroughbreds were offered. Top price up to lunch was for Lianstephan (a stallion), bought by Mr. W. Grant, of the South Island, for 2150 guineas."
