This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 13 October 1958: "The Deputy-Prime Minister (Mr. Skinner), third from the left, and Mrs. Skinner, are caught by the "Manawatu Standard" camera with the captains of the North Island Junior Labour Party basketball and Rugby teams on Saturday after the North Island had scored wins in both sports. Mr. and Mrs. Skinner are flanked (on the left) by C. Clements and Miss M. Lutze and (on the right) by R. Moore, the New Zealand Junior Labour Party president, and Miss R. Walkin, the captain of the South Island basketball team."
