Bunnythorpe is a small rural community, close to Palmerston North. It was established in the 'Manchester Block' in the 1870s. The railway line shown here (Palmerston North to Feilding) opened in 1877. Bunnythorpe School opened in 1883. This photograph shows the school after it had been remodeled and extended. See 2009n_bu33_rtl_2690 for a view of the original school.
