This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 7 January, 1964. "Pastel green in colour this Stag's Horn (Platycerium Alcicorne), commonly found in Queensland, is among several growing in the Peter Black Conservatory at the Esplanade. Improved growth is achieved by placing a banana skin between the punga and plant."
