This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 09 November 1960 "Women made the best of the brilliant sunshine to parade their summer finery at the Show on Saturday. Those who arrived early preferred to play safe and chose suits and coats, but the afternoon patrons, predominantly teenagers, heralded in summer. Gay cottons, silks or ginghams in the popular florals, strips and spots, styled on either the sheath or full-skirted lines, were colourful highlights. Many chose the sleeveless and low-backs and it was suspected that sun lotions would be well in demand. Above are three young women in relaxed mood, enjoying the sunshine. They are (from the left): Misses Moira Toomey, Dianne King and Margaret Bailey."
