Ludolph Georg West (c1845-1919) was Mayor of Palmerston North 1886-1887 and a Borough Councillor 1883-1886. He was born in Denmark and was amongst the first Scandinavians to settle permanently in the Manawatu in 1868. He was an architect and also Captain of the Volunteer Fire Brigade.
