Description

The ever-popular Summer Reading Programme returned for its 20th year in 2016. Summer Reading promotes the enjoyment of reading for children aged 4 – 10 years. Librarians assist participating children with their reading and encourage them to talk about what they have read when they report in. Children earn rewards as they progress and if they complete four report-ins they are presented with a prize at the Finale party. In 2016, the Te Reo Programme
was offered for the first time, as well as multi-lingual report-ins in Mandarin, German, Japanese, Spanish and French.
