Description

The Palmerston North Public Library commenced a service for housebound people in February 1972, and by 1976 it was servicing 36 people and growing. A volunteer delivered books on a fortnightly basis to people unable to visit the Library themselves and did not have a relative able to help. The service is still provided by the Palmerston North City Library to housebound patrons. Right: Miss Blakeley delivering books.
