This image is believed to have been taken by Palmerston North Engineer Frank (Frances Leslie) Berry. His father Edwin Daniel Berry kept a long association with the Gospel Hall, later leaving his business Berry Engineering' to his sons and leaving New Zealand in order to conduct Christian missionary work in Fiji.
After use as a church hall, the Gospel Hall was used as Watson Bros’ warehouse and then by a car wrecker. In 1991 the building stood at 548 Main Street, but with a central roller door.
