Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 5 August, 1959. "Under police guard to protect them from other human influence which might tend to interfere with the course of justice, jurymen hearing a 3070 pound claim in the Supreme Court at Palmerston North today adjourned to inspect a set of scales on which beef carcasses had been weighed at the Levin abattoir. The apparatus was set up especially in a City Council yard in Albert Street."
