Kempthorne, the officer in charge of the Navy Recruiting Board (left), conducts one of a number of interviews at the Palmerston North City Council Chambers today. In this case, he questions a Palmerston North applicant, Murray Jones, being assisted by Petty-Officer J. D. Wilson."
