"Appeal Benefits by £17"
- Description
This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 1 July, 1963. "Looking somewhat like a mint on Saturday morning, the garden section of the P.D.C. rang with the jingle of coins as three Freyberg High School prefects counted money which had been thrown into a wishing well over the last few months by "well-wishing" customers. The money, which totalled £17 0s 2d, has been donated to the high school's gym-swim appeal. In the photograph (from the left) are B. Bowler, K. Hyde (head prefect) and S. McKenzie."
