This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 1 July, 1963. "Looking somewhat like a mint on Saturday morning, the garden section of the P.D.C. rang with the jingle of coins as three Freyberg High School prefects counted money which had been thrown into a wishing well over the last few months by "well-wishing" customers.
