Foxton Wharf and Railway Yards
- Description
In the foreground are the railway yards and the station building on the far right. To the left of the goods shed is Levin and Companies “Hemp Grading and Wool Stores”, a large white building built in 1907 and destroyed by fire in 1922. It is thought this photo was taken when the river was in flood, and vessels at the port were unable to cross the bar at the mouth of the Manawatu River.
