This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 2nd December 1965 "So well known to city dwellers and visitors, the Esplanade gardens take on another view when seen from an aircraft. This aerial view shows the [unknown] palm drive, the Peter Black Conservatory (lower centre) and the aviaries and R.S.A. memorial paddling pool (extreme left)."
