Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 4 December, 1959. “The field of retailing is one in which any young man or woman can be sure of a prosperous and secure future. The economists predict that New Zealand is shortly to enter a retail boom which will be greater than any experienced since the closure of the last war. The future executives for the expansion will be recruited from young people. This photograph was taken inside one of Palmerston North’s most modern department stores.”
