Painting of a man working in the courtyard of the Club Hotel, Palmerston North, which operated on the Church Street side of The Square. The courtyard was a 'beer garden' in a garden setting.

Water colour. John Tetley was a parasitologist at Massey Agricultural College and a well known amateur artist who exhibited locally.
