This booklet contains a few pieces about the history of Palmerston North mixed with many hand drawn advertisements from a variety of older local businesses. These include: Manawatu Mills Ltd, Thomas Griggs and Son Ltd, Millar and Giorgi, Garners, Leary's Chemist and Druggist, Pegdens, Hannahs, B&A Wholesale Merchants, Martins Foundry, G H Bennett and Co, Manawatu Knitting Mills, Andrews Furnishers, Glaxo Laboratories, Hallenstein Brothers, Dixons Drinks, Hodder and Tolley Ltd, and the Commercial Hotel. Amucum was set up by Earland "Packy" Patterson with toy models of Palmerston North from the 1870s. It was housed at 280 Church Street.
