The building on the far left is the Bank of Australasia (erected 1878), on the site now occupied by the Australia and New Zealand Bank (ANZ) on the corner of Broadway Avenue and The Square. The buildings left of that stood on the site now occupied by a row of buildings including the Imperial Chambers and Civic Building. Note the people standing outside the McDowell Bros Drapers seem to be posing for the photograph - perhaps indicating they are the staff of that establishment.
