This photograph shows the road between Foxton and Foxton Beach being reconstructed by the New Zealand Laykold Ltd, of Wellington, (Mr LC Eggers, overseer). The road on the right of the photograph leads to the settlement of Foxton Beach. The road to the left of the photograph is a section of old road which has been cut off by the new road on the right. This corner is about one mile from the present Foxton Beach post office.
