This house was the home of John and Matilda Perrin and family. It was later renumbered as 256 Featherson Street. John and Matilda married in Palmerston North in 1874 and had a family of 9 children. John Perrin was a partner in the building firm, Meyrick, Perrin and Oakley, and Matilda was the 'adopted daughter' of George and Louisa Snelson.
