This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 16 March, 1959. "School's In," echoed the bell at the Terrace End School jubilee celebrations on Saturday afternoon. The ringer shown here was one of the first-day pupils, Mr Herbert Carty, of Palmerston North, who is supported by Mr T. H. Attwood, the chairman of the jubilee committee."
