"Antiques Auctioned In City"
- Description
This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 3 May, 1963. "Many people are fascinated by auction sales, and often bid complusively for things they had no intention of buying. There was a big crowd for an antique sale at a local auction room yesterday. Buyers came from as far afield as Auckland and the South Island and were obviously intent on buying. In the picture a member of the staff holds two steel etchings as the buyers bid."
