This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 17 February 1958, page 6: "Although the baths at the Ashhurst School have been in use for some time, the official opening was held on Saturday. Here the chairman of the Wanganui Education Board (Mr. H.W. Brown) cuts the tape across the baths to show that they have now the official recognition of the board."
