This image was taken (but not used) for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 11th January 1966 "The last trappings of the Christmas season departed from the city yesterday when Father Christmas and the Nativity scene were removed from the Square. the 600lb, 18ft high likeness of Santa Claus, was lifted to a truck late yesterday and taken to Messrs. Hodder and Tolley's for storage until next year. In the picture, members of the P.R.O. are moving Santa Claus on to the truck."
