Stan Key ran the Palmerston North Motor Cycle Training School. The course that Pamela Burman attended, held at the Central Normal School from 13 January - 7 March 1959, was the 14th class to graduate. The 17 participants provided their own motor bike or scooter, or could borrow one donated by local shops. The average age of the participants was 17 years.
