This view of the southwestern quadrant of Te Marae o Hine, The Square, comes from a postcard, sent from A. W. Koehlev to Blaramerg, dated 12/02/1914. The Grand Hotel was built in 1906 on the site of the former Provincial Hotel. The Manawatū Daily Times newspaper occupied this site from the 1890s until 1913. Note the absense of the lakelet, added in 1901
