Description

The building was constructed in 1913 for Arthur Hopwood, a prominent Palmerston North businessman, who leased the land. It became part of “Everybody’s Theatre” next door, and in 1928 the theatre was remodelled to become the Midland Hotel. Much of the hotel was demolished in 1966, leaving this portion remaining for retail shops.
