This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 22 February, 1964. "Mr Arthur Cheshire (above) is seen testing circuits on the patch panel in the carrier room--the station's nerve centre. The panel he is working on is completely full and a new panel (shown right) is being built to take the extra circuits."
