Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 22 February, 1964. "This is the transmitter hall, the place where the real work at Himitangi is done, so to speak. The massive transmitters lining both sides of the long hall were manufactured in the United Kingdom and the United States. At the time this photograph was taken, messages were being sent to Canada."
