This photograph was taken for a story that ran in the Manawatū Evening Standard on 2 July 1987 with the caption, "Kerridge-Odeon regional manager Valmond Page outside the Regent Theatre with a cabinet radio made in America in 1929 and a Phillips from 1933. The radios are a part of his collection of more than 700 vintage radios and phonographs. Tonight's movie offering in the Manawatu Film Festival is Woody Allen's 'Radio Days' and Mr Page thought it appropriate to bring some of his old gems out of storage. The movie is about the days when radio reigned supreme - the days when radios were an item of furniture and beautifully crafted... they were personally assembled and tested and people put names and dates to their work because they were proud of the handiwork"
