Crowds watch the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of York at the Grand Hotel in The Square, where they stayed overnight. The Duke and Duchess of York visited Palmerston North 3-4 March 1927, as part of their New Zealand tour. The Duke and Duchess of York became King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1936.
