Many of these men are unidentified. Named are Major C Dunk (6th from right), A.S. Aldrich (on Kiwi, 7th from right). Messers Aldrich and Pringle are also present, but not identified. The Manawatu Mounted Rifle volunteers were formed as part of the Wellington Battalion, Mounted Rifle Volunteers 7 November 1895.
