Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 29 June, 1963. "Late last night, staff at the City Council were hard at work to cope with the long queues waiting to renew their driving licenses. Many people left it too late and were left outside when the doors were closed at 8. p.m. There was standing room only in the building and it was expected that it would take another one and a half hours to clear the queues."
