Rongotea Co-Op Dairy Company Ltd battery operated trucks
More Info →- Description
-
Approximately 19 Walker Electric trucks were in use collecting home separated cream for butter making from 1918-1925. The electric trucks outlived their usefulness because of the limited distance that could be covered without re-charging (40 mile/65 kilometre range with an overnight charge), and petrol vehicles were restored to use. The Rongotea Dairy Factory stood at the corner of Thames Street and Douglas Square. It was later used Consolidated Traders Ltd in later years
