Description

The Manawatu Mounted Rifles outside the All Saints Anglican Church in Church Street. The first rank is under Captain Peach (possibly Dr Peach an early medical practitioner in Palmerston North). Second rank is possibly the cadet corps. The third rank is the Palmerston North Rifles under Captain Mounsey ( auctioneer and founder of Mounsey & Co.). The fourth rank is Palmerston North Guards under Captain McMurray. The fifth rank is unknown. E S Baker is pictured in the middle of the fourth rank.
