Description

Development began on the Victoria Esplanade in 1897, named to mark Queen Victoria's 60th jubilee, . The pergola was built in c1916-1917 and demolished c1940. The winding complex of pathways was developed under Peter Black, Curator of Reserves from 1908-1946.
