Signing the contract for construction of Eventide Home

The Eventide Home, designed by Reginald Thorrold Jaggard, was constructed as a home for 40 elderly people at a cost of $60,000, largely due to the local Society of the Friends of the Aged and community fundraising. In 1961 it was renamed Brightwater Home. From left, standing: C Teppett; Reginald Thorrold Jaggard, Architect; Blair Tennent, Chairman of Committee; M Sexton, Secretary of Committee. Seated: J P Wilson, Builder.
