Mrs Laila Ann Morpeth (nee Maynard) was the Children’s Librarian at the Palmerston North Public Library. She qualified for her new Zealand Library Association (NZLA) certificate in 1963 and her ANZLA certificate in 1973. She began working at the Public Library in 1960 and was appointed Children’s Librarian in 1971, after having been Acting Children’s Librarian since 1968. In 1978 Laila was appointed as the first full-time Librarian at Queen Elizabeth College
