Arrived as a single man on the ship "England" in 1871. Later that year, he went to Hawkes Bay. Appears to have then gone to Dannevirke and returned with a wife on the ship "Gainsborough" in 1878 (see booklet on Manchester Corp. immigrants - ie Feilding). They lived in Ashhurst as farmers for a short period of time before moving to Norsewood. He died at Palmerston North Public Hospital. See Mosquitoes and Sawdust by Val Burr for more details.
