Mr G A Hart identified two men in the photo. Second from left, standing in the background, is Harry Hart and second from left, standing in the foreground with a stick, is Jim Davis. The exact location of this metal pit is unknown but it may have been at Ashhurst where the road to Bunnythorpe joins Hillcrest Road or at Church Hill, Awahou North.
