Probably taken from the C M Ross department store, looking down one side of The Square, past Rangitikei Street corner, to Broadway. The larger whitish building near centre is the former Bank of New Zealand. the other tall whiteish building at right is the Australasian Temperance and General Mutual Life Assurance Society Ltd (T&G) building is on the right (built 1937) and beside that is the Bank of Australasia. Further down Broadway Avenue can be seen St Patrick's Church.
